The Winter of 05/06 - (updated
02/26/06) - Our basement remodel project is underway! We
played
December close to the vest this year, staying in the
Northwest.
The week before Christmas pond at Steve and Ann's froze, and we got
snow on Brae Mar. Christmas itself was celebrated at Steve
and
Ann's, and Amalia's 4th birthday was back here at Casa
Carkeek-Hercey. Steve and Ann spent New Year's Eve with us
and
January flew by, broken up for Robyn by the annual trip to Bandon Dunes
and for everyone with some painting down in the basement. We
went
with the Weigel's back to the coast in February and stayed at a nice
house in Newport, enjoying record cold temperatures. Still,
it
was better than being in the Midwest ;-) Next up are the
finishing touches downstairs and a much anticipated return of Spring.

Late Fall 2005 (updated 11/26/05) - A much needed family vacation to Florida for Amalia's first visits to Busch Gardens and the Magic Kingdom were a big highlight of our November.
-----------------------------------------------
Early Fall 2005 (updated 10/28/05) -
We had
fun with visitors from the East and made our first family visit to Cape
Disappointment in Washington State on the north side of the mouth of
the Columbia River. Amalia enjoyed her time at the Pumkin Patch and
made a very cute Dorothy for Halloween.
-----------------------------------------------
Summer 2005 (updated 9/18/05) - It was a wonderful summer and the pictures and memories from summer 2005 will last us a very long time!
-----------------------------------------------
June
2005 (updated 6/25/05) - June as always is busy. Amalia had
Tristan over and they played in the cubbyholes under Amalia's
bed. It won't be long until they're too big to do
that!
Artist Amalia poses with her work. Keri's cousin Julia got
married up in Tacoma at the Museum of Glass and Amalia danced for about
four hours! We all had fun at the Rose Garden for Father's
Day
and Amalia really made dad happy by washing the car. ;-)
Finally,
we celebrated Amalia's three and a half year birthday.
-----------------------------------------------
May 2005 (updated 5/14/05) - Pictures from Mother's Day 2005!
-----------------------------------------------
April 2005 (updated 4/22/05) - Spring images, including some shots from our front yard and Amalia's hike up in Seattle area along the Cedar river with Papa on Keri's birthday weekend. Enjoy!
-----------------------------------------------
February 2005 (updated 3/2/05) - This February had a three week stretch without rain, the longest consecutive streak in Portland history for the month. Amalia enjoyed her finally complete bathroom (shown below speaking with Grandma Hercey on the phone) while her folks took a day off work to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. The weather was just a great as when we got married and lasted long enough for Amalia and her mom to get Spring planting done.
-----------------------------------------------
January 2005 (updated 1/17/05) - Amalia is having fun painting with watercolors and we're back from Bandon. Tad Wiegel was a real trooper piloting his fully loaded car back to frozen Portland to get the Ederle brothers on their flights. Shots of Brent "Chimp" Elliott from Denver area and Portland's own team Hughes/Herbert are also below.
-----------------------------------------------
December 2004 (updated 12/31/04) - Holiday time was splendid as we found time to get to opposite corners of the lower 48 to see both the Carkeek and Hercey sides of the family. Amalia got to ride the ferry in the Puget Sound to the Grimms' the week before Christmas, then was a real trouper on the airplane rides to and from Florida where we celebrated Christmas and Amalia's third birthday.
