Homelife in Oregon DEN AND BABY'S ROOM FACE LIFT (8/27/01): The past week-plus has been full of a lot of hard work. Keri's grand makeover vision for the den and baby's room has come to fruition. Steve and Ann came down and gave us 4 solid days of work, then Keri and I worked through this past weekend getting it a little closer to being finished. You can see the differences pretty clearly. By Tuesday we had received bids on the work and our vendor of choice got to work on a very messy project. Here are some pictures of the work in progress. So far the crew has worked seven days (and some nights) laying a new pipe. Check out the size of the hole they had to dig! Pictures go from Day One through Day Seven top to bottom... -------------------------------------------- LANDSCAPING NEWS (February 2001): As much as Keri and I enjoy our home, we are always planning on ways to make it better. Phase One of our long term improvement was completed earlier this year when we got our back slope landscaped by the wonderful folks at Landscape East. The following two pictures do not do justice to the excellent work they did for us. What was once a gloomy, ivy and morning glory infested mess is now a bright and colorful view from our kitchen and deck. We are still in process of having to try to finish off those pesky weeds back there, but the work was an immediate and noticeable improvement and we look forward to the day when we can have them back out to do the sides and front of our place! Click on the pictures below to see them full size. --------------------------------------------
Our friends from England Simon and Mary Ann came to visit mid-August 2000. They had control of the camera, so we don't have pictures of them. We do, however, have a couple of pictures Simon took of our cats Cirrus and Quarry. -------------------------- Keri's proud of her Sherrie Wolf original painting (click on image to enlarge) ---------------------- HOLIDAY GATHERINGS 1999 Over Christmas Keri and I hosted Keri's folks for the first Christmas in our home. Keri was the chief chef and made some great meals, which we all walked off with some trips to Council Crest and along the Willamette waterfront. Surprisingly clear but cool weather dominated the daily climate for the entire week (letting me get in TWO rounds of golf!). Meanwhile, my family was in Mexico escaping the Midwest cold in mid-80 temperatures. Keri and I took the train up to Seattle on the weekend of December 17th and got together on Vashon Island with Nan, Robert, and many of the great people on Keri's side of the family. Though the weather was gloomy, our time together was not.

Keri and I moved into our 1940's home in March of 1999. Take a look at our ground floor and second floor or check out pics of the move in! Our basement started looking a bit more like a studio after I went in with my buddy Phil Favorite on a Fostex Model 450 8 Channel Mixing board (we earlier bought a nice little PA for practices) later in the summer of 1999. I plugged my V-drums in, used other inputs for guitars and microphones, then mixed the output into our headphones and into a borrowed 4-track recorder. It's a nice low budget way to make music. Our first place was in the near Northeast part of the city near Lloyd Center, the biggest mall in Oregon. Here are some pics from the first 18 months in Oregon... Heeeeerrrrrrrrreeeeeee'sssssss KERI!
